This one-time group will take place at my clinic space on the CSU campus. Please plan to bring a pillow and blanket for comfort. Participants must be vaccinated and wear a mask. All other materials will be provided.
The group GIM process is somewhat similar to traditional GIM (described here), which takes place in individual sessions. A key difference is that there is no discussion during the music itself. This group is meant to be an opportunity for self-care and connection, but it will also be educational in nature. Several musical experiences will be offered, followed by art making or journaling and verbal sharing. Come with curiosity, imagination, and questions about how this method may be a good fit for you or some of your clients. Information will be provided about the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music, including clinical examples.
